This dataset was collected in the frame of the doctoral thesis of Marcia Carolina Munoz Neyra, in Colombia (Risaralda). The thesis entitles “Functional consequences of mutualistic interactions between fleshy-fruited plants and frugivorous animals in the tropical Andes”. The fieldwork took place in the period February 2012-March 2013 along an elevational gradient (1800-2700 m), in two protected areas (the national park Santuario de Flora y Fauna Otún Quimbaya (SFFOQ) and the regional park Ucumari). The plots were located every 100 m of elevation along the elevational gradient. I recorded interactions (fruit removal or seed damage) across the year (2012), twice in the rainy season (May and November) and twice in the dry season (February and July). The work was focused on plants with fleshy fruits, including shrubs, trees and epiphytes. The traits of the animals were quantified in natural history museums or with bibliographic references. The traits of the plants were measured in the field, in the plots and the laboratory.
