This dataset highlights the typology of sahelian vegetation degradation stages in general and particulary, describes glacis&#146;s degradation stages through their functional and structural characterization. The study is typically based on the spatial variation of vegetation cover which is determined by combining satellite data, visual interpretations of vegetation cover and field investigations. Taking into account glacis&#146;s degradation stages, phytosociological, dendrometrical, regeneration relev&#233;s were done. Soil sample were also taken in each degradation stage of glacis in order to understand the variation of physical and chemical parameters along the vegetation degradation gradient.
The following dataset were collected:
* Satellites images data
* Phytosociological data
-180 phytosociological relev&#233;s were done according to the geomorphological units
-104 phytosociological relev&#233;s were done according to the land degradation stage based on vegetation cover variation
* Dendrometrical data
104 dendrometrical data were done according to the land degradation stage based on vegetation cover variation.
* Regeneration data
104 regeneration data were done according to the land degradation stage based on vegetation cover variation.
* Soil data
60 soil samples were taken in each degradation stage at two deph (0-10 cm and 10-20cm)

<title>Collection/treatment of field and satellite data</title>
<para>The field data were collected by the mean of inventories according to the Braun-Blanquet phytosociological relev&#233;s methods. Dendrometrical and regeneration relev&#233;s were also done. Plot sizes were 50 m x 20 m for woody species , 10 m x 10 m for herbaceous species and 5 m x 5 m for regeneration. R&#233;l&#233;v&#233;s were done according to the variation of the land cover. Several environmental variables, such as vital attributes of ecosystems were examined and characterized. Description
108 phytosociological relev&#233;s, 108 dendrometrical relev&#233;s ,108 regeneration relev&#233;s were done and 60 soil samples.
Satellite images were analyze to evaluate the land cover change over time and to extract the NDVI for land cover spatial variation.</para>
