Species distribution modelling of freshwater invertebrates

Global climate change is expected to alter species present distributions, thus a shift of species distributions towards higher latitudes and altitudes is predicted. The response of cold-stenotherm, eurytherm and warm-stenotherm stream macroinvertebrates to climate change is investigated on different resolutions and spatial scales. Further, an applied modelling approach with respect to the assessment of stream condition and the possible species turnover driven by climate change is investigated.
