Dataset and R codes for PLoS ONE paper - PhD thesis

This dataset contains two excel files and four R scripts necessary to perform the analyses involved in the paper entitled "The importance of vegetation density for tourists’ wildlife viewing experience and satisfaction in African savannah ecosystems". The first excel file contains 7 variables related to vegetation structure, 3 variables related to vegetation heights and is used to perform a Principal Component Analysis. The second dataset contains the vegetation components extracted from the PCA and mammal perceived densities, as well as answers from wildlife tourists concerning their attitudes towards vegetation, the easiness to spot mammal species and their overall satisfaction. Data were collected in Etosha National Park (Namibia), Chobe National Park (Botswana), Kruger National Park and Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park (South Africa).
