Lichen Monitoring in The Netherlands

In the Netherlands the provincial authorities are in charge for this type of monitoring of lichen. I am responsible for the actual data collection and owner of the data. Eight provinces (out of twelve) are involved, I give the size of the datasets and the years of investigation:

  • Friesland 18.268 records (1991, 1996, 2003)
  • Drenthe 56.549 records (1991, 1998, 2004, 2010)
  • Gelderland 31.264 records (1990, 1994, (1997), 2003)
  • Groningen 4.908 records (1991, 1996)
  • Overijssel 42.568 records (1989, 1994, 1999, 2005)
  • Utrecht 64.870 records (1979, 1984, 1989, 1995, 2001)
  • Zeeland 17.268 records (1997, 2000, 2003, 2006)
  • Noord-Brabant 8.410 records (1993, (1997))

Data on lichen abundance are collected on an ordinal scale.
