Protea Change

In 2025, data on pollinator communities was collected at 16 study sites in protea-dominated shrublands near Cape Town, South Africa. Pollinator observations have been conducted using different methods. (1) 10-minute Point Counts of nectar-feeding birds (2) Camera-Trap videos of bird pollinator - plant interactions, and (3) 15-minute insect pollinator observations. Additionally, (4) protea cones have been collected and examined for signs of damage caused by insect antagonists.
