Archive Image Collection

The Image Collection is an online database hosted by the Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut (SDEI), part of the Senckenberg Nature Research Society (SGN). It provides portraits of entomologists from around the globe that the SDEI hold in its archive collection. This database contains digitized historical and modern photographs, drawings, caricatures, and prints, primarily portraits of entomologists, which are part of the SDEI portrait collection. It is regularly updated and expanded. The descriptions of the portraits provide links to the biographic information of the people portrayed in the Biographies of the Entomologists of the World database. Closely connected to other SDEI resources, such as literature indexes and entomological catalogs, the database allows users to cross-reference biographical data with scientific publications and collections.
