Lake Constance littoral fish beach seine data 1997 to present

Data were collected at three sites in Upper Lake Constance, three replicate samples during both day and night per site. Sampling was monthly from March to November during the first five years, but takes place in May, June, August and September since 2003. Fish are determined to species, grouped in size classes, and 20 specimens per size class (whenever they are available) are measured for total length and mass. The purpose of the sampling is the monitoring of possible changes in the littoral fish community in the light of decreasing lake productivity, invasive aquatic species, climate change and fisheries management.
