Palaeontology of Reef Terraces

During the interglacial periods in the Pleistocene to Holocene coral reefs proliferated in the Red Sea and Persian Gulf. In the interceding glacial periods however, coral reefs contracted to the tropics. These datasets are aimed at using foraminifera to understand the changes in biodiversity between successive interglacials and corresponding periods of coral reef growth. Temporal coverage: Pleistocene to Holocene
