SDEI - Systematics and Biogeography

The Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut (SDEI, Senckenberg German Entomological Institute) department Systematics and Biogeography focuses its research on phylogenetic systematics as well as on biogeography. That means the examination of phylogeny and classification of species within the megadiverse insect orders such as Coleoptera, Diptera, Hemimetabola, Hymenoptera and Lepidoptera represented by the corresponding sections of the SDEIs insect collection. Ecology section and the Molecular Lab complete this department.
